Cashews are a healthy and delicious snack alternative thanks to their rich vitamin and mineral content. In addition to vitamins E, K and B6, they include minerals such as copper, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, iron and selenium which are essential for maintaining proper bodily functions.
The copper and iron in cashews work in tandem to help the body generate and utilize red blood cells. This maintains the health and proper function of the blood vessels, nerves, immune system and bones. The mono- and poly-unsaturated fats in cashews can be a good option to maintain body weight and reduce the accumulation of fat and cholesterol in the heart. Cashew nuts are a great alternative to animal fats and proteins and their delicious taste makes them a healthy snack option.
