Instructions:
Transfer the almonds into a large bowl, top with boiling water and let rest for 15-20 minutes. Once the almonds soften, take them out of the water and peel. Process the peeled almonds in the food processor until it reaches flour consistency. Melt the butter in a pot and cook the flour until it loses its raw smell. Add the ground almonds and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Slowly add the milk and mix with a whisk. Add the water, ground nutmeg, salt and pepper and cook until it boils while mixing continuously. Once it starts boiling, lower the heat and cook for another 5 minutes before taking it off the stove. Sauté the sliced almonds in butter and sprinkle on top of the soup. Serve hot.
